Awww <3 <3 Anon with a heart of gold. Thanks, you. Got a little misty from your note (and all the other kind ponies who have written me.) The concept in that one was to have her be seeing something that she liked off camera, but it was cold/windy outside. It was really just to try a different shader node method on the hair, as I was having trouble concentrating. I’m glad you thought it was pretty. Generally I like to make playful things, but I agree that emotional states do indeed have a strong impact on art.

If you go waaaay back there’s one of Discord and Fluttershy that I made when I was having a horrid day, and that’s one of my stronger pieces even though it’s old and I’m much better in a technical sense these days. It’s still one of my favorites so far as the layout goes and the emotion it conveys.

Thanks everyone for writing in and wishing me the best! Tell my organs that, would you? One in particular doesn’t feel like doing its job lately, and I really need that one to get on the ball to like, keep me alive. Physically fit young people that don’t drink (me! I’m not overweight! I run marathon distances! I eat broccoli!) should not have a liver that’s like “Ahhh. Fuck it. You handle blood filtration I’m not feeling it.” Grr! I’ll get that bastard into shape, hopefully. I want to make it to at least 70 and I’m not even half way there.

Anyway. I’ll avoid being a drama pony and try to get back in character, here in the future <3

Given the recent “art theft” topic that’s been going around, this is rather timely. If you’re an artist that posts on Derpi it looks like a shady company is selling your stuff.

Like, I’m a little honored to see something of mine that’s for sale, sure, but people really shouldn’t do this. And of all the things they chose to sell of mine, did it HAVE to be the one where the Wonderbolts are raping the CMC? Come on. Pick that classy one with Cheerilee and her sister at least.

Let’s not patronize stores like that, OK? Every artist I know would be happy to sign a print that a fan made at a kinkos or something. If anybody does want some kind of ultra HD thing of mine to print out just ask and I can hook you up. <3

Hi friends!

Dammit! I guess it’s OK and it was a good learning experience. See, the fluid simulator doesn’t like some things, and it didn’t like this. Models with skeletons behave like something covered in that NeverWet stuff. That left me with the SPH particle fluids, which looks like wet sand. Now that I know that, I can make something good, but what to do with this one?

I figure I’ll post it anyway. Next one that’s in my head should be pretty special, though. I am at least pleased with the lighting, here.

Yes yes blender pros: I need more samples. Each frame of this took 30 minutes to render as it is. Without a better hardware solution this was the best I could muster in Cycles. I’ll see what I can do differently on the next one.
